B A B B L E . . .

Came back last week from a mini trip to San Diego with some friends. The area around the hotel was totally sketch, but we had fun visiting nearby places like Old Town, Balboa Park, downtown, and some beaches. The San Diego Zoo was easily my favorite part of the trip! :D I fell in love with klipspringers; aren't they darling? Now I can no longer deny ever having been to California when people ask about my mysterious valleygirl dialect (I'm Latina and live near the East Coast; it tends to surprise people, haha).

Up - OhmygoodnessUp. I love when a movie's entire plot cannot be captured in a single trailer (I'm lookin' at you, Twilight). As always, Pixar delivered way more than what I had expected. I even cried, ahhh. And I totally want a baby Kevin for Christmas this year! *__*
Star Trek - Not as into sci fi as I used to be, but I thought the movie was very entertaining. Sat next to a lovely little biddy who squealed with me at the appearance of Nimoy and even recited the old intro narrative at the end. I've got to say that topped the time I laughed with this random old dude at Lou Ferrigno's cameo in The Incredible Hulk. Children are clearly overrated; old people rock. :heart: Plus ohmyholychristSIMONPEGG ahahahaha where did you come from!? I am a fool for this man.
Transformers 2 - Uhhh... Had high hopes for this one, big mistake on my part. The scene with Optimus, although familiar, still managed to make me feel as if my heart was being ripped from my chest. ;_; Only thing I can really recall liking, actually, but I guess you're bound to have a bit of trouble when your director thinks special effects can/should supersede acting. P.S. I still love you, Peter Cullen!

And then maybe Harry Potter and Ice Age. Ahhh summer is a good time for movies. :>

ha ha it's still weird. seeing how we call Old Hazelton Old Town back in the village(s).

still haven't watched Up. Wal watched it ages ago though XD
I never got to see all of Star Trek. saw some of it with Kris though. he watched it at least twice already |D;
I've been hearing lots of ppl dissapointed with Transformers 2. Prolly watch it just b/c it's transformers and Hoops just got the first season of the first series on DVD recently XD I missed the old retro. no matter how nonsensical, corny, and random it was XD that's why I loved it and it's so nostalgic~
FO SHO. I must see the new Harry Potter. it's like tradition for me to drag Wal to it every time it comes out in theaters |3 hopefully I can get Kris to go with us too 8D;! Ha ha it's kinda disspointing Wal never read the books. he's only seen the movies. [we have a joke about Order of the Phoenix, so it's our fav. XD] Meaning I have to fill in the blanks for him or tell him what was changed and what-not. I wanna try get him to read the books. But that like trying to move a boulder with telekinesis XD;
Eh... dunno about Ice Age. maybe, prolly wait for it on DVD and watch it with mom.

Wow, I really liked the transformers movie personally, I didn't hear good things about the up movie but you make it sound really good, I'll probably go see it.
Then again its so hard for me to go to the theater since I clean it. If I see someone leave a mess I'd Murder! Lol

Saw Star Trek and loved their new take on the plot (as well as giving themselves the ability to do what they want with Kirk and Spoc when another film comes out). Plus, Simon Pegg goodness!!

You have some good cinema stories. People are usually dead silent over here (unless of course it's a comedy). If anyone makes a noise, it's ike they have ruined your enjoyment of the film. Hehe.

My mom and little brother liked it, so you're not alone. :3 Maybe I will like the third one better; more Megatron plz!

I'm totally biased because I love Pixar, but I think if you like their recent movies, you will probably like Up too. :D

Omg do you work at R/C Theaters!? I want to work there soooo baaad haha. The employee discount would definitely help me save on tickets! @_@ I bet cleaning up after kids' movies is killer, though. D:

Haha that must seem a bit surreal. x)

Aww, Up has my second favorite opening short, and I totally want to see Star Trek again, so you know I recommend those two. XD Omg when my little bro and I got back from seeing Transformers 2 we popped The Return of Optimus Prime into the VCR! xD Good times. I wouldn't watch T2 again, but I hope you like it more than I did! At least there is more retro goodness coming out with the G.I. Joe movie. :'D

My brother won't read the HP books either. D: I guess that's kind of a good thing for him when it comes to watching the movies so he's not brainraped by the changes and shortcuts.

I miiight be able to see Ice Age in theaters if I have some spare cash. Not looking good at the moment, but, but... John Leguizamoooo! ;__;

I had to see the klippies a second time before leaving. If only they were native to my backyard! xD <3

I only watched bits and pieces of TOS/TNG with my dad as a chillun, so I have no idea what they kept or changed for the new movie, but I had a lot of fun watching. :D I really like the new actors, too (Quinto is so eloquent in the interviews I've read/watched! *swoon*). Haha, I clap my hands with joy whenever I spot Simon; last time was in Geeky Dreamboats! :giggle:

Ahhh I just love how revamps like this can connect different age groups. My Geometry teacher was tickled pink when I recognized the Vulcan salute (the next day he gave me his card with Spock stamped on the back, which I still have after all these years, haha). Early showings tend to be quieter, but I didn't see ST until very recently, so I'm sure most of the people with me had already seen it. Kids' movies always tend to be a free-for-all, though. :XD:
